Little Ezra is struggling. His body is working incredibly hard to breathe. Last week we learned that he had an ear infection and have been treating it with antibiotics. He has continued to be feverish on and off for over a week. And it seems like his ability to nurse is fading.

Today something about the way he is struggling seems different. He is having difficulty keeping fluids down and his breathing is very labored. Ethan took Ezra to the pediatrician today and his oxygen saturation levels were low- although honestly, we don’t monitor his levels, so we don’t know if this is “normal” or not. A chest x-ray showed some “splotchiness”. We have no idea if this is just an infection that Ezra is fighting off and he will rebound… or if this is the unthinkable. Through the day I have seen moments of our charming, smiley Ezra, but for much of today we have just seen our beautiful little boy fighting for every breath.  We are doing all we can to make him comfortable. We keep reminding Ezra how much we love him and how lucky we are to be his mom and dad…
